From Doppelgängers to UFO Disclosure: What's Next?
What's next from doppelgängers to UFO disclosure? This question lies at the heart of paranormal researcher Jim Harold's insights, shared during a recent interview with Cristina Gomez, where he drew from nearly two decades investigating unexplained phenomena across the spectrum of human experience.
Doppelgängers and Paranormal Experiences
One of the most chilling accounts Jim Harold shared involves a woman’s terrifying encounter with what appeared to be her husband but was something altogether different. Harold explained the incident in detail: “This one woman, her husband was in the military. It was a time of morning, you know, 6–7:00, whatever. He was usually out for his jog, but this morning he was still in bed, and she could feel him like his body against hers,”
The physical sensation was completely normal — the weight and warmth of her husband’s body pressed against hers as they lay in bed together, exactly as it would feel on any ordinary morning. There was nothing initially alarming about the experience.
“They’re a married couple,” Harold continued, “and she turned around and it was like her husband but it was just slightly different.”

This subtle wrongness — perhaps in the features, the expression, or something intangible — triggered an immediate sense of danger. What appeared to be her husband was actually “some kind of impostor like some kind of entity or something.” The slight differences were enough for her to recognize that whatever lay beside her was not human, despite wearing her husband’s appearance.
In her fear, the woman instinctively turned to prayer for protection. Harold explained: “She started to say the Lord’s Prayer and this thing said ‘don’t say that.’”
The entity’s hostile reaction to the prayer — directly acknowledging and attempting to stop her spiritual defense — makes this encounter particularly disturbing. Not only did this being physically manifest and mimic her husband’s appearance almost perfectly, but it also revealed intelligence and apparent aversion to religious invocation.
This account exemplifies the type of doppelgänger phenomena that Harold has noticed increasing in recent years — unexplained encounters with beings that eerily mimic the appearance of loved ones while carrying subtle yet unmistakable differences that reveal their true nature.
Harold shared another remarkable case involving a healthcare worker who experienced a temporal anomaly: She’s getting on with this group of people and she turns around and she sees the freight elevator and she sees three people… the transport guy that she worked with earlier in the day, the patient she worked with earlier in the day, and herself earlier in the day. She saw herself both ways.”

The Spectrum of Paranormal Phenomena
Drawing from countless interviews and personal accounts, Harold has developed a nuanced perspective on the paranormal. He believes supernatural occurrences exist on a spectrum similar to human nature itself:
“I’m a big believer in the idea of good and evil… I think that the paranormal is an extension of our everyday lives. If you look at our everyday lives, you know that there are a lot of really good people out there… and then you got the evil people and there are evil people and I think the paranormal is just like that.”
Challenging Established Beliefs
Harold acknowledges that his work has repeatedly challenged his own belief system. As someone raised in the Christian faith, he has encountered numerous accounts that have expanded his understanding:
“I’m not ready to throw out my faith or what I believe, but it’s like maybe there’s more to it than I understand”
He shared a compelling reincarnation story about James Leininger. He was born to Christian parents in Louisiana, began showing unusual behaviors at age two after visiting a flight museum, having recurring nightmares about a plane crash and sharing specific details about flying a Corsair from a ship called “Natoma.” His father’s research confirmed the existence of USS Natoma Bay and discovered that only one pilot, 21-year-old James Huston Jr., died during the Iwo Jima operation in World War II. The young boy accurately described numerous details about the life and death of the fallen pilot before the family had uncovered the historical records, making his case one of the most compelling documented accounts of possible reincarnation.

These experiences have broadened his perspective significantly: “When I started out, my view of the world was very narrow… I don’t think the explanations are as simple as I used to think growing up.”
UFO Phenomena and Government Narratives
Harold expressed strong opinions about the changing terminologies surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena: “We can’t say UFO anymore because only kooks believe in UFOs, so we’ve got to say UAP, but we can’t even say that because that’s too close to UFOs, so we’ll call them drones.”
He believes these shifting narratives serve primarily to confuse the public and obscure the truth: “If you can’t dazzle them with something, you baffle them with BS… I think that’s basically what they’re doing.”

Technology and Possible Extraterrestrial Influence
One of Harold’s most intriguing theories concerns the rapid advancement of technology in recent decades. Comparing the simple dial telephone of his youth to modern smartphones, he suspects there may be an extraterrestrial component to this technological leap:
“We went from that dial telephone… to this miracle that’s sitting on my desk here… There’s some X factor in that development of technology in my view.”
He elaborated: “I believe that whether it was the Roswell crash or other crashes in that post-war era right after the second world war, there was technology retrieved and it was fed to civilian laboratories and… seeded to general industry and lo and behold we went from like a phone that would have been very in place in like the 40s and 50s… to this miracle on my desk.”

The Future of UFO Disclosure
While Harold remains skeptical about immediate full UFO disclosure, he sees signs of progress:
“I do not think by any means 2025 is the year of disclosure. What I do think… is I do think that we’re getting closer. You know, with the James Webb Space Telescope and these hearings that we’re having, the drip drip drip… maybe we’re getting closer to some kind of disclosure.”
However, he cautions against expecting dramatic revelations: “I don’t think there’s going to be the President coming on television saying ‘yep, you’ve been right all along, there’s aliens, there’s interdimensional travelers…’ If people are waiting for that, I think you’re going to be waiting a long time.”
Jim Harold’s extensive experience investigating paranormal phenomena offers a unique perspective on the unexplained mysteries that continue to intrigue us. Through thousands of stories collected over nearly two decades, he reminds us that there are still profound questions awaiting answers — from doppelgängers and reincarnation to UFOs and technological advancement.
